Plastics: Earth’s Super Polluters

Plastics: Earth’s Super Polluters with Alexis Goldsmith & Other Speakers

As the world shifts from fossil fuel based energy and transportation, plastics are the petrochemical industry's Plan B, with more plastics infrastructure being built every year. Plastic and the climate crisis go hand in hand: global warming emissions from U.S. plastics will surpass emissions from coal in the U.S. by 2030. Join Tackling the A-Z Impacts of Plastics for his free webinar on Thursday March 10th at 7PM ET. Beyond Plastics’ national organizing director, Alexis Goldsmith will give a briefing on their recent report detailing the major climate impacts from plastics' production, usage, and end of life. BJ McManama from Indigenous Environmental Network will explain how we are directly impacted by the petrochemical industry and the larger implications of what this means for the health and well-being of communities. Paulita Bennett-Martin from Oceana will give an update on the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act and we we will discuss several actions you can take.
